Aspen Events – January 2018


We are off and running in January with many of the well-known Aspen events: Winterskol, Gay Ski Week, and Winter X-Games, as well as the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix (an Olympic selection event)!

JANUARY 8-12, 2018

Australia Appreciation Week: Aspen thanks all of our Australian visitors (and those Aussies who have re-located here more permanently)! Here is a week of Aussie dining and snacks, cricket, and all kinds of other events! The week starts on January 8th at Snowmass, moves to Buttermilk on the 9th and Highlands on the 10th, and it finishes up on Aspen Mountain on January 11th and 12th.


JANUARY 10-14, 2018


Toyota U.S. Grand Prix: Head over to Snowmass to catch the Grand Prix, which is a selection event for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang! Watch over 400 skiers and snowboarders compete in halfpipe and slopestyle events for spots on the men’s and women’s teams.


JANUARY 11-14, 2018


Winterskol: A winter festival to celebrate the season, Aspen, and being “better together” (this year’s slogan), the weekend events include music, torchlight descents of the ski area, fireworks, doggie fashion shows, ice skating, comedy, and much more!


JANUARY 14-21, 2018


Aspen’s Gay Ski Week: A week-long LGBTQ winter event held in January each year offers plenty to do for everyone, even if you don’t ski or board. There is daily skiing/boarding on one of the four mountains in the area with guides for all abilities. There are also daily aprés ski parties, dinners, comedy, film, boutique & art walk, nightly parties, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, yoga & spa days…and much more.



JANUARY 25-28, 2018

Winter X-Games: X-Games returns again to Buttermilk for an exciting, action-filled weekend as athletes compete in superpipe, slopestyle, snowbiking, and snowmobiling!

Music includes Martin Garrix, Method Man & Redman, LCD Soundsystem, and Marshmello.
