As summer winds down, the fall air gets slightly cooler and the town of Aspen gets a little quieter, locals enjoy a slower pace. It’s time to enjoy the hiking trails, mountain bike routes, relaxing with friends and co-workers. We’ve picked out a few fall events that locals and repeat visitors look forward to every fall.
August 24, 2019, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet at the Aspen District Theater.
The world-renowned Aspen Santa Fe Ballet closes out their spectacular 2019 summer season with a performance of the highly acclaimed Beautiful Decay. This is their first-ever evening-length ballet which you won’t want to miss!
August 28 – September 2, 2019, MotherLode Volleyball Classic Aspen
For 46 years Athletes and Fans come together for this exciting outdoor volleyball tournament. Players of varying levels come every year to compete and meet up with friends. Aspiring young players enjoy watching the competitions, cheering for their favorite teams, and the Master’s Division always draws a crowd.
August 30 – September 1, 2019, JAS Labor Day Experience Snowmass
If you’re here for the Labor Day Weekend, you MUST come to this music festival. This year’s lineup is packed with an eclectic mix of genres and top artists. You can get your Last Chance Tickets or fully immerse yourself with VIP Tickets. Bring your low chairs, hats, sunscreen and dancing shoes for some music in an unbelievably beautiful setting.
September 6-8, 2019 Snowmass Balloon Festival at Snowmass Town Park.
You are in for a visual treat with hot air balloons that that fill the sky during the Snowmass Balloon Festival. There are many festivities over the weekend which are free to the public with free parking at the Town Park Station lot.
September 19-22, 2019 Aspen Aspen Ruggerfest in Wagner Park
Things get a bit rowdy on the field during Ruggerfest. Join the fans and cheer with gusto!
There is no admission fee to watch so bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the mountain air.
October 9-14, 2019 John Denver Celebration Various Aspen Area Locations
What better place to listen to the music of John Denver than in his mountain home community. Friends and fans gather to share stories, enjoy sing-a-longs, and listen to concerts by singer-songwriters.
A highlight of this weekend will be the 22nd Anniversary Musical Tribute to John Denver on Saturday, October 12th at The Wheeler Opera House at 7:30pm.
