Snowmass Base Village Grand Opening is December 15, 2018!
This summer, construction began on the new $600 million Snowmass Base Village project. Over the past decade, Aspen Ski Company has invested millions of dollars in and on Snowmass Mountain to make it a premier family resort. The Treehouse Kid’s Adventure Center and ski school is top notch for kids. A third Limelight Hotel will be opening its doors soon. Traditionally, the Limelight Hotel caters to locals and tourists alike. This one will feature a 5 story climbing wall, a restaurant, ski storage, and hot tubs abound. In the center of the plaza, a huge lawn area, which doubles as an ice-skating rink in the winter, will be a community gathering space.
As a Snowmass local, I’ve witnessed, firsthand, this dream become a reality. It has been something else – hats off to the construction team for keeping the area clean, organized, and hidden behind sound proof barriers. Snowmass ski resort and the mountain terrain is Aspen’s best kept secret. I really enjoy the small ski town resort vibe Snowmass exudes and am a little torn on the expansion. We will soon see what the new additions bring to this sleepy resort. This phase is scheduled to be complete on December 15, 2018. All in all, exciting things on the horizon for Snowmass!
